Post Street

Turning from Wall Street onto Post, just off Garland, is a route I traverse daily, sometimes multiple times. It's a familiar scene, one that finds its way onto my canvas alongside other slices of life. Locals would recognize it instantly—it's a part of our shared landscape.

In my painting, you'll find a playful touch: a sign jokingly proclaiming my candidacy for local office. Despite its humor, there's authenticity in its presence; political signs often line this stretch of street, reflecting the character of our community. While I didn't craft the mural adorning the nearby wall, I'm familiar with the artist behind it. His work, like mine, speaks to the essence of our time and place.

I remember when that wall was bare, its concrete surface cracked with age. Yet, for the sake of authenticity, I've depicted it as it stands today, mural and all. It's a testament to the ever-changing nature of our surroundings, a narrative I aim to capture through my art.
